Join us for a FREE Stargazing evening to celebrate Astronomy Day in Mauritius! The evening will bring astronomy closer to the community through: Telescope observations of the Moon, planets, stars and other celestial objects visible from Mauritius. A mini-documentary on space exploration.

About the event
World Astronomy Day 2026: Free Stargazing Event
To celebrate World Astronomy Day on 19 September 2026, Astro Mauritius and its team will be bringing several telescopes and projection systems to the public beach of Flic en Flac, offering everyone the opportunity to discover and explore the night sky.
This is a completely free event, organised with the aim of promoting astronomy in Mauritius and making this fascinating discipline accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of experience.
We invite you to join us from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM for an evening of stargazing on Flic en Flac public beach.
If you own a telescope and would like to join us with your equipment, you are more than welcome to bring it along and participate in the observation.
You are also welcome to bring anything that will make you comfortable during the evening, such as a beach mat, chair, snacks or…
